Mastering a language requires different abilities: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. When my students want to master all the above-mentioned abilities, I usually guide them through a self-discovery of language. I start with a text, written or oral, and a comprehension activity. Then I show my students some particular aspects of the text I want them to focus on, such as grammar structures or new words. After that I let them work on these things through exercises and oral or written activities.
